Concentration: Training and Development

As a new graduate student in the Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) program at UNC Charlotte,  I have chosen the Training and Development concentration to acquire. This offers the greatest flexibility in career types while providing a significant foundation for creating learning experiences in the context of both corporate and higher education.

​

The training and development concentration aligns with my goal of working in roles where creativity, education and technology can be connected to bolster learning. K-12 education focuses more on classroom teaching, while the Training and Development concentration imparts breadth of job types and opportunites.

​

This is my chosen path because of the opportunities it provides in corporate and higher education, and because of strong opportunities for remote work—which is highly desired context for me. Some of these occupations also tend to align with the salary range and career growth I’m aiming for, making this concentration a fantastic fit for both my professional interests and long-term goals.
